Pastors’ retreat project

At UCCD, we believe that when a pastor is spiritually alive and strengthened, the church they lead becomes vibrant and impactful. That is why we organize pastors’ retreats designed to refresh, equip, and empower church leaders—so they can return to their communities with renewed vision and purpose.

We are convinced that the Body of Christ is called to be an agent of transformation in every sphere of society. For this to happen, churches need strong, spiritually grounded, and visionary leadership. Through these retreats, pastors are encouraged, trained, and inspired to lead with greater effectiveness and integrity.

As part of our mission to support the Church in fulfilling its calling and to contribute to community development, investing in the growth and well-being of church leaders is essential. By strengthening pastors, we help strengthen entire communities

Biblical studies for adults

As a lasting solution in contributing to the strengthening of Church leaders, a Bible school focused on theological training and community development from two to six years is underway in various churches in Burundi. More than 299 training centers are already established throughout the country in more than 46 denominations. We are mentoring more than 8,532 people. At the beginning of February 2026, we held graduation ceremonies for 1,214 graduates. We use the program of the Nation-to-Nation Christian University (N2NCU) located in Texas, America, with which institution we are in partnership.

Bible Teachings for Children

Basic education is a powerful driver of lasting change—especially when it is delivered at the right time and with the right foundation. At United Christians for Change and Development (UCCD), we are committed to investing in the spiritual growth of children as a key pathway to transforming communities.

Through this project, we support Sunday school programs across various denominations and local churches using the TMC: The Mailbox Club curriculum. This structured and engaging program is designed for children aged 7 to 14, helping them build a strong biblical foundation and grow in their faith.

We train Sunday school teachers from partner churches and provide them with essential teaching materials, including guides for teachers and lesson booklets for children. In addition, we offer continuous support and mentorship to ensure quality and consistency in teaching.

To ensure sustainability, the program is led by dedicated volunteers from local churches, organized into teams of leaders, mentors, and club facilitators who oversee and guide the learning process.

The impact of this project has been remarkable. Between 2018 and 2025, more than 183,000 children have been trained and certified through TMC lessons. In 2025 alone, UCCD reached over 150,000 children, with more than 6,600 making a commitment to follow Jesus Christ.

Through this initiative, we are raising a generation grounded in faith, equipped with values, and prepared to positively influence their communities.
